The Stadium of Fire

Justin's work was SO kind to us while we were in Utah.  They allowed us to come & eat lunch with him in their state of the art cafeteria whenever we wanted to.  And then to top it off, they gave us free tickets to go see the Stadium of Fire.  I took Cadence & Lorien because they were old enough to really enjoy it.  The younger 3 stayed at home with Mamoo.  I enjoyed having a little date night with my two girls.

I grew up with the Stadium of Fire.  We went every 4th of July ever since we moved to Utah when I was 9 years old.  In fact, I sang at the Stadium of Fire when I was 9 in my little children's choir.  I have great memories of it.  I was excited to share the experience with my girls.  They LOVED the dancers.

The 1st act of the night was Scotty McCreery.  He won American Idol's last season.  I had never heard of him before (we don't have TV so I haven't seen American Idol in years), but I was impressed.  It was amazing that such a deep country voice could come from this super young kid.  He was really good.

But the main act of the night brought back TONS of memories.  One of my very first times going to the Stadium of Fire was to see The Beach Boys. . . my favorite band as a kid.  And this year they were back.  I couldn't wait to see them.  They all pulled up in these snazzy muscle cars from the 50's & 60's.  I especially loved the yellow VW Bus.

Yes, they were old, but they were just as good as they ever were.  I LOVED IT.

My girls were cracking up because I knew every word to every song & sang it LOUD.  I was up dancing around like a crazy person & they were laughing hysterically at me.  It was SO MUCH FUN.

For the fireworks portion of the show, they dedicated it to James Bond 007.  I wish my dad would have been there.  He's the biggest Bond fan there is.  It was fun listening to James Bond music as millions of fireworks blew up the night sky.

We had a blast.  I'll never be too old for a good fireworks show.  I love them.  I'm so glad I had the opportunity to share this memory with Cadence & Lorien.  Thank you Vivint for providing us with tickets.  You guys ROCK.
