On the way home from Epping, we were starving. . . but we did NOT want to eat at that nasty McDonald's again. I don't think I could stomach it. We figured we'd just eat at the eatery on base as soon as we got home, but it was getting so late & we were afraid the BX would be closed by the time we got there. The kiddos were crying because they were "starving" so we knew we needed to do something fast!
All over England we kept seeing these "Little Chef" restaurants. We saw one coming up & decided "why not?" We pulled off the motor-way & pulled into the parking lot. When we walked in & sat down, we realized that "Little Chef" was the equivalent of a "Denny's" or "IHOP" in the states. How refreshing!! It was SO NICE to sit down as a family at a diner-like place.
Trek got his first order of English fish & chips (which he loved!) & I got some chili on rice with onion rings. The kids had fish & chicken nuggets & loved them. Everybody was happy with their food. It was fantastic. We were SO glad we decided to stop there.
We all went to the bathroom before we got back in the cars & finished the long drive to the base. . . & we ALL laughed when we found this in our bathrooms. What in the world?
